1st Time to the SXS Adventure Rally at Sand Hollow? If so, you may have some questions about what to expect. Below is some important information that will answer many of your questions. If you still can not find the answers you are looking for, feel free to contact us!
Q: Can I request a refund?
A: You can request a refund up to 10 days prior to the event. After that point no refunds will be given for any reason.
Q: I want to come to participate in Rally trails but I do not have my own SXS, can I rent one?
A: Yes! Mad Moose Rentals offers SXS Rentals! Click Here to book! (Booking information here. Including Waivers, Age Requirements, etc.) They will be onsite all week for last minute rentals.
Q: Where is the SXS Adventure Rally at Sand Hollow?

Q: Where is the Rally Headquarters?
A: Event headquarters are located at the “Staging Area” at Sand Hollow State Park on the South side of the lake past the South Side Boat Ramp. Follow the signs and you can’t miss it!

A: May 11-13, 2023
Q: How much is the SXS Adventure Rally?
A: $135 per person for online registration. This INCLUDES an event T-Shirt, breakfast each morning (continental Wednesday and Friday Camp Chef hot breakfast Thursday), 3 days of guided adventures, and one raffle ticket per person. **Note any online registration after March 31st will NOT be guaranteed a T-shirt as the order must be placed in advance. REMINDER: You can request a refund up to 10 days prior to the event. After that point no refunds will be given for any reason.
Q: Can I sign up at the event?
A: $145 Onsite Registration at the event. (or $45 per day) breakfast each morning (continental Wednesday and Friday Camp Chef hot breakfast Thursday) and one raffle ticket per person. (*Onsite Registration DOES NOT INCLUDE an event T-Shirt.)
Q: Do I have to pay to get into the State Park?
A: All online registrations will also be charged an additional $10 per vehicle total online registration, you will then receive an email two weeks prior to the event with your parking pass to enter the park. All onsite registrations will have to pay the $15 per vehicle state park entrance fee.
Q: What does my registration fee cover?
A: Your registration includes 3 days of guided trail rides, event T-shirt (for those that register online before March 31st) all BLM & School Lands and Trust fees, sales tax, 3 breakfast meals, opportunity to talk with the top vendors in the industry, participation in VIP events and experiences (additional fees may apply), and a chance to win many raffle prizes.
Q: Is the registration fee the same for drivers and passengers?
A: Yes. Insurance, dinner, T-shirts, and all BLM fees are the same amount for both drivers and passengers, therefore, registration fees are the same for those that wish to attend the event.
Q: Can I drive my SXS/UTV around town?
A: The answer is YES! Please remember that you can now get a license plate for your UTV so not having will become an issue soon.
Q: Can I change my trail selections once selected?
A: Yes, but on a limited basis. We will do our best to fit you on your desired trails, once our BLM limit is full, that trail will not be available unless somebody drops out. PLEASE do not “drop in” on a trail.
Q: Will my stock SXS/UTV work on the trails at Sand Hollow?
A: Yes. We offer many different options for the stock machine. Any Red level routes must be 60″ minimum SXS.
Q: Are helmets required?
A: No, but they are highly encouraged.
Q:Does thé state of Utah require any courses or special permits?
A: Attention all Non-Utah resident participants: Utah now requires ALL non-residents to purchase an OHV permit. Permits will NOT be sold at state parks; PERMITS MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE at the state OHV website HERE. Part of the permit will be to complete a FREE OHV education course (required education course can be found here). Q: What equipment do you recommend?
A: Basic repair tools, tire repair kit, spare belt, misc parts. Along with personal basics such as water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, jacket, rain gear, first aid kit, camera and extra memory cards! Our trail guides will have a gear bag with them at all times with some of the items handy to have out on the trail too.
Q: Are there SXS/UTV rentals available?
A: The SXS Adventure Rally itself does not have rentals available. However there are many great companies that offer Side X Side rentals at Sand Hollow and in the city of Hurricane, UT. A simple internet search will bring those up for you.
Q: Are ATV’s allowed at the SXS Adventure Rally?
A: No. Your vehicle must have a steering wheel and roll cage.
Q: What is the weather like in Sand Hollow this time of year?
A: The normal max temp is 90 with the normal low temp of 50. It is a good idea to be prepared for wind as we have seen it rain at the rally before. A wind breaker & jacket are good to have along with you.
Q: Is lunch or food provided on trails? A: No, please bring water, any snacks or lunch if you wish on your trail. You will take breaks here and there to see sites, learn about the trails etc.
Q: How long is the guided trail?
A: The trails vary in length (miles) most trails will depart at 9:30am and will return between 2-3pm. If you register onsite you may or MAY NOT get the trail selections that you want to run. We advise you to preregister online for the highest chance of running the trails that you want to explore. All trails have minimum and maximum participants, the SXS Adventure Rally reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel scheduled trails. If that happens, we will do our best to substitute trails of equal difficulty.Have additional questions? Feel free to contact us.
